At Turner School in Canberra, the whole school enjoyed a mass read of the book and teachers acted out the parts of Herman and Rosie as the winner of literacy and numeracy week 2013. This was the school I taught Indonesian language in 2010. Lovely school, lovely staff and lovely students. Well done. http://www.literacyandnumeracy.gov.au/video/national-literacy-and-numeracy-week-2013-wrap
The school just celebrated a Happy 60th Birthday. Turner School has approximately 560 students enrolled across the school, from preschool programs through to Year 6 students ready to move on to secondary schooling.
Turner School opened in 1953 and is one of Canberra's oldest schools. North Canberra schools are part of a close community network. In particular we work closely with the O'Connor Cooperative School and Lyneham High School. A feature of our school community is the dedicated and enthusiastic support of our parent community.
